一、学校简介

华中科技大学是教育部直属重点综合性大学，由原华中理工大学、同济医科大学、武汉城市建设学院于2000年5月26日合并成立，是国家“211工程”重点建设和“985工程”建设高校之一，是首批“双一流”建设高校。

学校校园占地7000余亩，园内树木葱茏，碧草如茵，环境优雅，景色秀丽，绿化覆盖率72%，被誉为“森林式大学”。学校教学科研支撑体系完备，各项公共服务设施齐全。

学校学科齐全、结构合理，基本构建起综合性、研究型大学的学科体系。拥有哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、理学、工学、医学、管理学、艺术学等10大学科门类。在教育部第四轮学科评估中，我校44个学科参评，全部上榜，其中机械工程、光学工程、生物医学工程、公共卫生与预防医学等4个学科进入A+，A类学科14个，B+及以上学科33个。入选一流建设学科数 8个。

学校坚持开放式办学理念，积极开展全方位、多层次的国际交流与合作，目前已与世界上35个国家和地区的100多所大学建立了良好的校际交流关系，每年有约1600余人次的国（境）外专家学者来我校任教、合作科研和开展学术交流活动。学校从上世纪六十年代初开始招收国际学生来校学习，五十多年来，已经为全世界130多个国家和地区培养各类留学生逾6000人。国际学生在获得华中科技大学颁发的学士、硕士或博士学位回国后，很多人已经成为杰出的工程技术人员、著名医学专家、政府管理人员或所在国驻华外交官员。

2002年设立了专门负责国际学生的管理机构——华中科技大学国际教育学院国际学生办公室，正不断完善和规范对国际学生的招生、培养、管理与服务。

2013年7月，在教育部启动的首批来华留学示范基地建设工作，我校在评选中脱颖而出，成为教育部首批来华留学示范基地。2017年，华中科技大学在校国际留学生人数已达4100余名。此后，华中科技大学将迎来更多的国际学生来校学习。

二、人文学院简介

人文学院创建于1977年，开全国重点理工科大学开办文科之先河。人文学院由中国语言文学系、哲学系、历史研究所组成，同时还建有国学研究院。现有教职工93人，其中教授28人、国务院学位委员会马克思主义学科评议组成员1人、教育部高等学校文化素质教育指导委员会秘书长1人、教育部教学指导委员会委员2人、博士生导师17人、副教授23人，教师中拥有博士学位的有73人，占专任教师总数的97.3%。现有中国语言文学和哲学2个一级学科博士点，涵盖博士点16个。另有汉语国际教育专业学位博、硕士授权点，中国语言文学一级学科目录外自主增设国学学科博士点和硕士点，以及哲学、中国语言文学2个博士后流动站。

中国语言文学和哲学是省级重点学科。学院建有“德国哲学研究中心”、“法语文化研究中心”、“中国当代写作研究中心”、“国家治理现代化”省级协同创新中心、省级人文社科重点研究基地等研究机构，中文系主办的《语言研究》杂志有着良好的国际学术影响。

学院与美国韦恩州立大学、新西兰坎特伯雷大学、波兰卢布林大学等多所国外高校建立了合作。汉语国际教育、汉语言文学、文艺学、语言学及应用语言学等专业面向法国、韩国、日本、印度尼西亚、泰国、老挝、越南、白俄罗斯、蒙古、土耳其、摩洛哥、巴西等多个国家招收留学生，目前本科及研究生在校留学生共计69人。我院留学生教育由来已久，始于上世纪八十年代，至今已培养出数百名优秀留学生，他们熟练掌握汉语，了解中华文化和中国国情，在中外友好交流中贡献力量。

三、中国文化夏令营的内容和目的

为了传播中华优秀文化，让世界各国学生了解中国基本情况、领略中华优秀传统文化、观摩创新创业优秀成果，感受五千年华夏文明的熏陶，从博大精深的中华文明中汲取营养，在跨越东西方文化的学习中培养更多的创新能力。华中科技大学人文学院特在暑期举办中华文化夏令营。

夏令营将聘请华中科技大学相关领域资深教师讲授《中国汉字》、《中国古代小说戏曲》、《湖北武汉历史地理》、《中国哲学》、《中国经济创新》等课程，精心策划丰富多彩文化活动，亲自体验中国书法、武术、龙舟、美食，参观历史博物馆、武汉风景名胜，与中国学生互动交流，在学习中华文化中感受中国魅力。

四、课程及活动安排

主办方除聘请华中科技大学相关领域资深教师进行授课外，还将招募华中科技大学学生作为活动的志愿者，精心挑选户外活动地点。

注：活动内容为参考方案，主办方将根据实际情况略做调整。

五、费用

每位营员须交纳人民币2500元参营费，该费用仅覆盖必要的支出：听课费、集体出行交通费、门票、保险、文具材料费、校内餐费等。住宿费80元/人/天。

注：校际合作单位推荐营员免收上述费用，其余开销由营员自理。

六、举办时间及报名事项

本次夏令营将于2019年7月8日～2019年7月17日举办，为期10天。

即日起接受报名，报名截止日期6月15日。申请人请填写附件报名表，以邮件形式发送给主办方。主办方将根据报名者的基本情况确定是否适合参加本次夏令营。本次夏令营拟招生40人，如被录取，我们将邮件告知入选者。

1、An Introduction of HUST

The Huazhong University of Science and Technology is a national key university directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education of China. On May 26th, 2000, the former Huazhong Institute of Technology merged with Tongji Medical University (founded in 1907) and Wuhan Urban Construction Institute (founded in 1952), to form the new Huazhong University of Science and Technology as it is known today. HUST is one of the members of Project 985 and Project 211 and among the first batch of national "Double First-Class" universities.

HUST started to accept international students since 1960s. For over 50 years it has cultivated more than 6000 international students from more than 130 countries and districts. After obtaining the bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctoral degree awarded by HUST, most of them have become outstanding engineers and technicians, famous medical experts, government administrators, and officials in their embassies in China.

2、An Introduction of School of Humanities

Founded in 1977, School of Humanities consists of Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Department of Philosophy, the Institute of History and the Institute of Chinese Classics Studies. There are 93 faculties and staffs in the School, including 28 professors and 23 associate professors. There are 73 teachers with doctorate degrees, accounting for 97.3% of the total number of full-time teachers.

The School has established partnerships with Wayne State University, University of Canterbury and John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.

The School has admitted international students from France, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Belarus, Mongolia, Turkey, Morocco, Brazil and many other countries in majors like Chinese International Education, Chinese Language and Literature, Theory of Literature and Art, Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. At present, there are 69 undergraduates and graduates international students studying in the School of Humanities. The School of Humanities has a long history of cultivating the international students which can trace back to 1980s. By now it has trained hundreds of excellent students. With the mastery of Chinese language and understanding of Chinese culture and background, the international students are making contributions to the friendly communication between China and foreign countries.

3、The Purpose and Content of Chinese Cultural Summer Camp

The purpose of this Chinese Culture Summer Camp held by School of Humanities is: 1) to promote and share the Chinese culture; 2) to help the students from all over the world to understand the background and current affairs of China; 3) to cultivate the innovation ability from the cross-culture experience.

 Senior HUST teachers from relevant fields will be invited to teach courses in the summer camp. The courses will include Chinese Characters, Ancient Chinese Novels and Dramas, History and Geography of Wuhan, Hubei, Chinese Philosophy and Innovation of Chinese Economy, etc.

Besides, the camp will organize a variety of cultural activities, such as learning martial arts and dragon boats, taste of local food, visit to the History Museum and other local sights. During these activities, the international students have opportunities of interacting with Chinese students and being exposed to the charm of China and Chinese culture.

4、Schedule

In order to make the Summer Camp enjoyable and valuable, senior HUST teachers will be invited to teach the courses, HUST students will be recruited as volunteers and sites of the outdoor activities will be picked elaborately.

Note: The arrangement may be adjusted under certain circumstances.

5、Tuition fee

The participant of the Summer Camp is required to pay a tuition fee of 2,500 RMB, which includes the necessary expenses like lecture fees, local transportation, tickets, insurance, stationary and handout expenses, meal on-campus. The accommodation fee is 80 yuan per person per day.

Note: The tuition fees of participants from our partner universities will be waived. The rest of the expenses will be paid by the participants themselves.

6、Date of Application and Other Issues

The summer camp is going to be held from July 8^th to 17^th, 2019 (10 days).

The applications and sign-ups are to be received by June 15^th. A registration form is required to fill in and send to the host. The host will make decisions upon the information provided by the applicants. The host will recruit 40 members at most and inform the successful applicants via emails.
